Thank you for participating in Hike for Mike, destined to be the regions premiere hiking event. We look forward to seeing you at Ready, Set, Hike!, on the trails during Hike Week, and at the Summit Celebration. With Hike for Mike we celebrate the strength and resiliency of the human spirit and the power of community to create a healthy future.

We believe that a community can unite in a local effort toward a common goal and experience success. As part of our Hike for Mike activities, we asked other island nonprofits and businesses—our Community Partners—to offer low or no-cost health, wellness, spiritual, or nature activities all week. If you’re looking to collect miles but need a rest, be sure to check out the Hike Week activities on the Events page. A fabulous variety of activities for all ages and interests are being offered, and  you earn one extra mile for each activity  you attend.. These great nonprofits and businesses that have partnered with us have so much to offer this island community year-round. Be sure to check them out!

Let’s not forget that Hike for Mike is a fundraiser for the Acadia Family Center, which provides education, prevention, and treatment for substance use, addiction, and related mental health disorders on Mount Desert Island and surrounding communities in Maine. We want you to know about Acadia Family Center and the important work we do. Please view the AFC Fact Sheet to learn about the programs and services we offer. While it is not required, hikers are encouraged to solicit donations for the Acadia Family Center from family, friends and co-workers in support of your hiking efforts. Your commitment to raise $50 gets you free admission to the Summit Celebration.

The individual and the team that raises the most for Acadia Family Center will win fantastic prizes. Print out the Donation Sheet and start soliciting donations for Acadia Family Center today (and it won’t hurt to have an AFC Fact Sheet on hand for concise talking points).

If collecting donations is not for you, that’s okay, too. This is a mission-based event and we are grateful for your registration and participation. We hope that you and your family and friends connect with Acadia National Park, nature, health and wellness, each other, and all that this community has to offer. Print out the Hiker Log Book and keep track of your miles, memories and milestones, and turn it in at the Summit Celebration. You will be eligible for prizes for the most miles hiked.
